Camel Train

Having lived in the UAE for many years, I’ve developed a deep love for the traditional tribal rugs found across the region. Camels, beloved here for racing, trading, and their enduring cultural symbolism, have always drawn me in.

Early in my time here, I purchased a beautiful camel-design rug from Iran, woven long ago by a nomadic tribe. That single piece sparked the beginning of my Camel Series, and the ongoing challenge I set for myself: just how many camels can I weave into a single rug-inspired design?

This artwork continues that story, a celebration of heritage, pattern, and the quiet majesty of these incredible animals.
